Sending a huge congratulations to the Fin Planner on taking the Top Release Boat at the White Marlin Open this past week! Skirt Chaser released 3 and boated a white marlin coming in just short of the minimum. Drifter had 5 white marlin releases and Little Shell had 1. Looking to keep the momentum going into the Alice Kelly Ladies Billfish Tournament on Sunday and the Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament next week!
On the home front, our offshore fleet has been heavy on the mahi with some nice gaffers in the mix! Tuna fishing has been picking up with some nice 60+ pound yellowfin, smaller bigeyes, and some blackfin. Billfishing has been hot with multiple blue marlin and sailfishes daily.
Nearshore fishing has been great with reports of sharks, spanish mackerel, sea bass, ribbons, and grey trout! We’ve had some huge red drum released this week, and even a few mahi on the longer trips!
Inshore boats are reporting good trout and bluefish catches in the sound, and some ribbonfish and amberjack oceanside!
